- you may get wet - so wear clothes that you don't mind getting wet
- loosely fitting clothes for ease of movement - most paddlers wear a t-shirt, rash vest, wet-suit shorts or boardies
- if it's your first time wear a t-shirt, old shorts, boardies, and an old pair of sneekers or thongs
- clothing that dries quickly / wicks moisture away is ideal
- do not wear denim or jeans
- no jewellery - especially rings or earring as they may cause injury or you may loose them
- capris or shorts are ideal. some prefer cycling shorts. longer leggings may be preferred in the cooler periods
- supportive footwear with good treads - not essential - you may wear no shoes - the treads will however help you grip when getting in and out of the boat - slip on reef shoes are ideal
- hat - one that won't blow off
- sunglasses with strap - unless you don't mind loosing them
- paddling/kayaking gloves - not essential
- raingear if it is wet - must fit under a life jacket if you are required to wear one (if you cannot swim 50 metres clothes then you should wear a life jacket)
- a change of clothes - layering is ideal
- towel
